Sebastien Baret is a French film composer from the southwest of France. Born in the late 1980s, he discovered music at an early age through classical training on the recorder in middle school, which quickly awakened a strong interest\n in musical creation. He soon explored electronic instruments before turning his focus to the piano. After completing high school with a specialization in literature and music, he pursued musicology studies at university, earning\n a bachelor\u2019s degree with a focus on musical analysis and organology. In parallel, he studied at the Conservatoire National de Bordeaux, where he was awarded a gold medal in harmony, counterpoint, and fugue, building a solid classical\n foundation.<\/p>\n

Driven by a deep interest in the relationship between music and visual storytelling, he began composing original music for short films in the early 2010s, developing a musical language rooted in orchestral writing and cinematic expression.\n Since then, he has composed for a wide range of projects, from short and feature films to television series, TV movies, advertising, and video games. Over a two-year period, he also created original music for large-scale fireworks\n shows presented at prestigious international events.<\/p>\n

In 2023, he composed the original score for the TV movie MORT SUR LA PISTE<\/strong>, directed by Philippe Dajoux and broadcast on France 2, starring Jason Priestley, Olivier Marchal, and \u00c9l\u00e9onore Bernheim, reaching an audience\n of 5.5 million viewers in France. His recent work also includes the critically successful short film ALLER SIMPLE<\/strong>, directed by Lor\u00e8ne Thaumass and released in 2025, as well as the TV movie UN NO\u00cbL SANS FIN<\/strong> and\n the television series ALTER EGO<\/strong>, both scheduled for broadcast in 2026 on TF1.<\/p>\n

Alongside his own projects, Sebastien Baret has developed extensive experience as an additional composer, orchestrator, arranger and mixer, collaborating with a wide range of established artists and composers. He has worked closely\n with Nathaniel M\u00e9chaly on numerous French and international film and television productions, and has also collaborated with Randy Kerber, Philippe Kelly, Laurent Couson, Gr\u00e9goire Hetzel, Benjamin Esdraffo, and Philippe Powell. His\n work further includes collaborations with artists such as Melody Gardot, Grand Corps Malade, and Ga\u00eblle M\u00e9chaly, contributing to projects spanning cinema, television, and live performance.
